New NIKE+ Fuel Band announced

In 2012 Nike wants you to be more active and has unveiled a new high-tech wristband to help you track your activity and reach your goals.

During a media launch event in New York City some of Nike’s executives and star athletes showed off the new power gadget called the Nike Plus Fuel Band.

Nike partnered with Apple to create a new mobile phone app that will compile data, and allow you to share and compare it with friends on line.

The Nike Plus Fuel Band tracks all movements, from swimming to running and biking, and represents all this data in a beautiful visual manner. It uses Bluetooth to allow  you sync it to your Apple iDevice through a free Nike+ FuelBand app. A built-in USB connects you to computers running Mac OS version 10.4 or later and Windows 7, Vista or XP. Nike have mentioned that an Android app is also on its way. The wristband goes on sale in the US on February 22, in the UK on May 1 with the rest of the world still to be confirmed. The recommended retail price for the Fuel Band is around $150.
