As we mentioned previously Twitter has been trying out a whole bunch of new features to ensure that it stays up to date. Now, there is a Buy Button for Twitter.
What does it do?
This new feature allows users to embed a Buy Button in their Tweets, which will allow other users to buy products directly through Twitter. These tweets don’t have to be sponsored, which means businesses don’t have to pay to advertise these Tweets. This move clearly indicates Twitter’s efforts to enter the e-commerce market, and so it should as Facebook is also testing out its own Buy Button.
A small percentage of US users have started seeing the Buy Button for Twitter in their timelines yesterday, which will probably grow soon.
“This is an early step in our building functionality into Twitter to make shopping from mobile devices convenient and easy, hopefully even fun,” Twitter said in a post.
This new feature could potentially cause Twitter’s business to expand in a big way as advertisers are likely to spend more on ads that could lead to a direct purchase.
How does it work?
Click on the Buy Button for Twitter > Enter payment details and delivery address > DONE! It’s that simple.
