Consumer Reports, an American reviews publication has released a list of the most violent games of 2014 and according to the publication, kids should never be allowed to play these top 5 most violent games:
RELATED: The World’s Top Paid Musicians 2014
1. Grand Theft Auto V
This comes as no surprise, seeing as the main storyline centers around heists, drugs, sex, extreme violence etc. As the title suggests, this game is all about crime, violence and general immoral behaviour.
2. Watch Dogs
Set in a fictional Chicago where the city is connected to a single network making it vulnerable to hackers. One of the darker sides of the game is something called Privacy Invasion, where you hack into home cameras and spy on people doing some messed up things.
3. The Evil Within
Kidnapping, chainsaws, grotesque violence and lots and lots of suspense makes this game extremely unsuitable for children.
4. Assassin’s Creed Unity
As the title suggests, the game is about assassination and there are some violent (and bloody) moments in the game.
5. Sunset Overdrive
In a world where people turn into mutants by drinking an energy drink, you get to play the hero and smash some mutant face. The weapons are intense and the dialogue is pretty rough.
Consumer Reports has also put together a list of the 5 best video games for kids of 2014:
- Skylanders: Trap Team
- Disney Infinity 2.0
- Pokemon Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby
- Super Smash Bros.
- LittleBigPlanet 3
