We’ve scavenged sites like Forbes, iTunes, AmazonIMDb, and Rotten Tomatoes to find the top movies of 2014. We looked at earnings, downloads and reviews and have chosen our own top 20 movies of 2014.

We figured it might be pretty cool to own them. So this month we are giving a lucky reader the opportunity to win their top 10 favourite movies. All you need to do is vote for them and fill out the form at the bottom. Be sure to check out the competition rules here.

A gang of intergalactic criminals are forced to work together to prevent a warrior from taking over the universe.

5. The Theory of Everything

The biography of Stephen Hawking’s relationship with his first wife and their journey of him becoming a famous physicist.

6. The LEGO Movie

A rule-abiding LEGO construction worker is mistaken for a prophesied saviour of the LEGO world and goes on an amazing adventure to stop an evil lord from gluing the LEGO world.

7. Maleficent

The story of the witch who places a curse on the infant princess Aurora, being a prelude to The Sleeping Beauty fairytale.

8. Mr Turner

A biography of the life of famous British artist J.M.W. Turner.

9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America teams up with another soldier, The Black Widow, to fight a historical assassin named The Winter Soldier.

10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

A group of teenage mutated turtle warriors have to form a vigilante group to fight a kingpin who is threatening to overturn New York City.

11. Sex Tape

A married couple try to rekindle their sex-life by making a sex tape only to accidentally share it with everyone they know.

12. The Purge: Anarchy

The story of a group of people who are stranded on Purge Night have to work together to try to survive the violence and brutality of Purging.

13. How to Train your Dragon 2

Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless, find hundreds of wild dragons living in an ice cave with a mysterious Dragon Rider. The two work together to maintain the peace.

14. Birdman

A has-been actor, who portrayed a superhero is trying to rekindle his family and his acting career.

15. 22 Jump Street

Best friends and police partners, Schmidt and Jenko embark on yet another undercover mission, this time around as college students.

16. Big Hero 6

A movie about an unlikely, but strong friendship that forms between an inflatable robot and a kid who work with a group of pals to become high-tech heroes.

17. Noah

Noah is chosen by God to restart the world after it is “cleansed” by an apocalyptic flood.

18. X-men: Days of Future Past

Wolverine is sent into the past in an attempt to change the course of history by preventing an event that causes the destruction of all humankind.

19. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

A group of apes battle human survivors of a pandemic disease.

20. Transformers: The Age of Extinction

Optimus Prime and his Autobots turn to a mechanic and his daughter to escape a bounty hunter.
