It’s been over 6 months since The Sims 4 was released in September 2014. Many fans of the popular simulation game by Electronic Arts and Maxis were disappointed to find out that the initial release was only for PC. Now, Mac Simmers can finally enjoy playing this game with The Sims 4 for Mac which was released in February this year.
If you already have a source code for The Sims 4 for Windows PC you will be able to automatically download and install The Sims 4 for Mac via Origin at no extra cost. All you need to do is log into your Origin account > My Games, and you will see The Sims 4 there if you’ve played the Windows PC version already > Begin downloading on your Mac (NOTE: It takes really REALLY long to download). If you purchased a physically copy you need to download Origin and create an account. Once you’ve set up your Origin account and have logged in you can enter the source code located on the game’s case and download and install the game.
If you’ve played the game on Windows PC already you can transfer your saved games and content to your Sims 4 on your Mac. On your Windows PC > My Computer > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Next you need a USB that has enough available space for the folder. Copy and paste all your saved content that is contained in this file. Safely remove the USB and connect it to your Mac > Finder > Devices > Select the USB > Open the copied The Sims 4 folder and overwrite the Electronic Arts folder located under Documents.
If this is a new purchase: Log into your Origin account (if you don’t have Origin you can download it here and register an account) > Enter your source code and download and install The Sims 4 on your Mac.
