On Sunday the annual South African Music Awards ceremony was held at Sun City’s Super Bowl. This year’s SAMAs were presented by Hip Hop Pantsula, aka HHP.

The big winner this year was indie-rock trio, Beatenberg, who took home six awards, including Album of the Year. This year’s Record of the Year award went to K.O ft Kid X for Caracara:

The SAMAs were first established in 1995 and the SAMAs 2015 marked the 21st anniversary of the event. There are different categories music artists can win in like Best Male and Female Artists, Best Newcomer and Best Group or Duo. Nominees are judged on their work in the previous year and winners receive a statuette called a SAMA.
