Less than a week after Zayn Malik announced that he will be departing from One Direction, he releases a new song.
If you listened really carefully last week (23 March) you could hear millions of teenage girls crying their little hearts out after news broke of the departure of Zayn Malik from mega boyband, One Direction. Zayn quit the band to become “a normal 22 year old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight”. Zayn, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan have been stealing the hearts of many teenage girls (and their parents’ money) since the band came third in 2011 on the talent search reality show, The X Factor. After four years together, sold out world-wide concerts, millions of records sold and massive fame, Zayn decided to take a break from all that and live a normal life.
Well, that didn’t last long. Yesterday, British music producer, Naughty Boy tweeted a new song entitled I Won’t Mind which features lyrics from Zayn himself.
let the music do the talking guys. thank us later. 🙂 x https://t.co/j7V2c7v1Yl

Many fans as well as One Direction band member, Louis, thought it was too soon, with Louis tweeting that Naughty Boy should “grow up“, calling him “inconsiderate“. A Twar erupted between Louis and Naughty Boy, which ended with Naughty Boy tweeting:
no one is against anyone here. the fans made all of us. not just a chosen few. the love is alive. hate just doesn’t belong here.
This isn’t exactly new news though, as Zayn and Naughty Boy have Tweeted numerous photos since January of them together in the studio. The collaboration has been dubbed Zaughty and Naughty Boy Tweeted a skateboard deck containing the name in January already leading us to think that the move by Zayn has been coming for a while.
Despite Naughty Boy and Louis’s little Twitter tiff, it seems like everything is still cool between the One Direction guys. Zayn told The Sun newspaper in the UK that there was no animosity between himself and the four other members and refuted claims that he left because there were issues between him and the other members.
My band has been really supportive. They’ve been cool about it. And they understand that, you know, it’s not real to me anymore.
We aren’t sure yet whether this song will signify the debut of Zayn’s solo career or whether it is just a collaboration with Naughty Boy. Naughty Boy has worked with artists like Emeli Sandé and Sam Smith.
