With this new partnership you will be able to see relevant Tweets in search results in Google pertaining to the topic you searched. Google adds Tweets to search results that contain relevant keywords in the actual Tweets, Twitter accounts or hashtags. This new update will be rolled out on official Google iOS and Android Apps as well as on mobile browsers. The update has initially only been made available in the US and will reach other countries in the coming months.

This move benefits both parties in a big way. Google will be able to provide users with more real-time information and news that is up-to-date, making search results more relevant. However, Twitter is for sure the big winner here. By Tweets appearing in Google search results, Tweets will be presented to a bigger audience and this might have the result of drawing more users to join the micro-blogging site. Twitter explains how it will work:

For example, if you’re interested in hearing more from Taylor Swift, a quick search on Google will pull up her most recent Tweets. Or, if you’re a TV buff, a search for #MadMen will bring up the most relevent news and Tweets about [the show’s] finale.
