Rumours have been going around basically since the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were launched that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active would follow suit and it has finally been revealed.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will initially be available in the US exclusively on the mobile network service provider, AT&T from 12 June 2015. No pricing has been released yet nor has it been revealed when the new handset will be available globally.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active share similar specs to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, but, as the name suggests, the new handset is designed for an active life-style:
- Water resistant (1.5m for 30min);
- Dust proof;
- Shock resistant;
- Active Zone app gives you a flashlight, stop watch and compass in one convenient place; and
- Withstands vibration, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), humidity and high altitude.
The new handset lacks a fingerprint sensor and now has three physical buttons – home, back and multi-window.
