Apple Watch Banking App

The Standard Bank Apple Watch banking app is currently being tested by pilot users and will start rolling out to the rest of the public in September 2015. The alpha version of the app will come with a feature called Balance Peek, which allows Standard Bank customers to check their account balances on their Apple Watch app. Margus Taljaard, Head of Digital Customer Solutions at Standard Bank, says that “Balance Peek on smartwatches is perfect for those moments when you need to quickly and unobstructively check your balance“.

The Bank will keep your personal and banking information private by giving customers the option to turn Balance Peek on and off on the companion iPhone app and you can de-link the app completely from your iPhone.

Standard Bank aims to continue to improve the experience for the Apple Watch app and will add services like the ability to track indices and shares, to follow market movers and to track share portfolios. The Bank also aims to release an app for Android Wear smartwatches later this year.
