1. Teach Siri to pronounce words properly
In case Siri goes on a bender and starts to mispronounce words, you can teach her how to say them properly. When she mispronounces a name or word – tell her “That is not how you pronounce the word”. She will then ask you how to pronounce it and will give you three options to choose from.
2. Lock autofocus and exposure when snapping photos
If you don’t want your exposure to change while your iPhone camera focuses on the object that you want to take a photo of, you can lock the exposure and the focus in place so that it stays stable. All you need to do is tap and hold on the object or the preferred exposure point, it will then tell you that it is locked.
3. Create your own vibration pattern
You can customise your own vibration patterns, so that when your phone rings it will vibrate in the order that you’ve chosen.
Go into Settings > Sounds > Ringtone > Vibration > Create New Vibration.
4. Boost your charging speed
The iPhone comes with its own adapter, but if you want to charge your iPhone three times faster, I would recommend purchasing the iPad adapter. The iPad adapter has double the output than that of the average iPhone adapter and can charge your iPhone much faster than the bundled adapter.
5. Save battery
By switching to greyscale mode you are able to reserve battery power when you’re running low and can’t get to a charger. This mode reduces screen intensity and blocks out colour, reducing the screen’s battery usage.
Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Turn on Greyscale
6. Hide photos
You can easily hide photos in your Photo Library by holding down on the photo and tap on hide. You can also tap on the hide button found in the share options.
7. Remove digits in calculator
If you have added an extra digit or an extra zero onto your amount in the calculator app there is luckily a way to remove it without having to start over. All you have to do to get rid of one is swipe across the top of the screen.
8. Use the built in level
Swiping left on your compass will open up the leveller. It might not be the most useful tweak on the phone, but it’s nice to check if your picture frames are level and your floor is flat.
9. Take burst photos
You can take burst photos if you hold down your capture button in your camera app. Just be careful because photos take up a lot of space on your device, so be sure to go through the photos and select your favourite and delete the rest.
10. Access your draft emails
If you have a ton of unsent mails and you want to get them on their way, just hold down on the New Mail icon (the pencil) at the bottom right corner. Now you will be able to edit all your current drafts and send them out.
