The iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 release is looming, and those of you, like me, who want everything and want it now, can rest assured that you can sign up for the iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 beta today.
In previous years Apple kept their OS betas closed, meaning that you would have to be part of the preview program to enrol into the test phase. With iOS 9 and OS X 10.11, Apple realised that with more people using the beta OS, the more user feedback they would receive. Hence the step in the open beta direction.
Although Apple have not mentioned how many users can sign up for the public beta, you can get a spot by following these steps:
- Head on over to Apple’s Beta Software page and click on the sign up button;
- Sign in with your Apple ID, whichever one you use the most;
- Accept those darn Terms and Conditions;
- Carry on with your life.
Once the beta has launched you will get an email from Apple with instructions on how to install it on your device.
Will you be signing up?
