The rivalry continues. The Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung Electronics Co. intends to move its announcement of the Galaxy Note 5 up to August, ahead of Apple Inc.’s unveiling of its next smartphone in September.
Apparently Samsung will release its next Galaxy Note in August this year. This goes against previous Samsung trends as it has unveiled its newest smartphones at the IFA Berlin Trade Show, which takes place annually in September, for the past 4 years. This move might indicate that the South Korean company is attempting to beat Apple to the punch in releasing its next smartphone first.
It would seem the two companies are playing a game of tit-for-tat. Apple has pulled the same trick when it stole Samsung’s thunder by releasing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus a mere six days after the Galaxy Note 4 was unveiled.
