The Sony Xperia Z4 is Sony’s latest flagship tablet. Boasting a wide range of new features compared to its predecessor, the Xperia Z4 tablet is surely a great device. I am here to highlight some of the best features of the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet that I have come across over the last few days.
Technical Mumbo Jumbo
Before we get into things, there are some technical things you should know:
|Xperia Z2 Tablet||495grams||172x266x6.9mm||10.1” (1920×1200)||1.5 GHz Qualcomm Quad Core||8.1mp||6000 mAh||Water-resistant|
|Xperia Z4 Tablet||389grams||167x25x6.1mm||10.1” (2560×1600)||2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon-64bit||8.1mp||6000 mAh||Water-resistant|
The Sony Xperia Z4 tablet has a gorgeous 2K screen. It supports a resolution of 2560×1600, and it really shines when it comes to crisp, clear, and vibrant colours. The screen is 40% brighter than the Xperia Z2 tablet and thanks to the IPS technology, the viewing angle is much larger.
Beautiful Gaming and Fast
With the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, the Sony Xperia Z4 features LTE and 64-bit Octa-Core CPU. With this, the tablet has 50% more speed than the Z2 tablet as well as an advanced method to converse power. It is truly a remarkable product being fast and green at the same time.
I have to say that the Xperia Z4 tablet has a fantastic battery. I watched TV shows all the way down to Clarence, it was about 4 hours, and I went from 100%, down to 70%. The tablet promises 17 hours of video playback without charging, and when put to the test, I can say that it delivers.
The device features an Ultra Stamina mode that is said to be the ultimate battery save mode. It limits the device’s performance, as well as the apps running in the background. This all helps to extend the battery when you are truly in a pickle.
While I stood above a dish of water, I brainstormed ways of making money to pay back the distributors if this experiment went wonky and the device exploded or something when putting it in water. After dropping it in I realized that it was truly water proof, and not some gimmick. Sure other devices have the IP65/IP68 rating, but they come with open ports that have no clips to seal them with. The Sony Xperia Z4 tablet is waterproof without the worry of holes to seal before jumping in the pool with it. It also has the highest IP rating in a tablet
Sound and Speaker
DSEE HX is Digital Sound Enhancement Engine, and it’s what powers the Sony Xperia Z4 and its powerful speakers. It also upscales MP3 and AAC files from low quality to high quality, giving you full –range audio.
As we’ve mentioned, the Remote Play feature in the Sony Xperia Z4 allows for direct control and gameplay from your PS4 to your tablet. It gives you the ability to carry on gaming even if someone has booted you off the TV. Thanks to the DualShock 4 support, there is really nothing holding you back from completing that quest on The Witcher, punching Scarecrow in the face on batman Arkham Knight, or completing a few Strike playlists on Destiny.
As we build up to our final review of the device, be sure to check out how the Z4 tablet works with gaming consoles, no matter if you own an Xbox One or a PS4.
