Brace yourself for a global teenage girl meltdown. Mega boyband, One Direction, have apparently decided that they will be taking a year-long hiatus to focus on their solo careers. This announcement comes just days after One Direction released the music video for their song Drag Me Down in which they travel to space.

The insanely famous boyband will be taking this break in March 2016. This means they won’t be touring their fifth album and first album as a four man boyband after Zayn Malik left the band five months ago to pursue his solo career. The new album will be released just before Christmas, but Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan have agreed that they won’t be touring this album, which is likely to leave fans quite devastated. This means that the band’s final performance will be on 31 October 2015 at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, UK.

Now, we all know what a “break to focus on their solo careers” in boyband language means, but a source told The Sun UK that:

It is definitely not a split and they fully intend to get back together at some time in the future. But for now it is the end and they go out on top as the world’s most popular music act.
