The apps allow fans of the highly popular American family to gain an even deeper access into their lives with the Kylie Jenner Official App boasting features like:
- Live streaming video and BTS content;
- Make-up tutorials;
- Kylie Radio;
- Beauty, lifestyle, shopping and fashion tips; etc.
A few days after the celebrities unveiled their apps at the Soho Apple store TMZ revealed that a total of 891 340 users signed up across the four apps within the first 24 hours. This means that at a prescription fee of $2.99 (about R35) p/m per app, Kylie Jenner and the rest of the clan are set to make about $32 million per year on their new virtual venture.
Kylie’s app reigns at number one with about 663 270 users and here’s how each sister’s app performed so far compared to each other:
- 74% – Kylie Jenner (663 270 users);
- 11% – Khloé Kardashian (96 635 users);
- 9% – Kim Kardashian West (80 879 users); and
- 6% – Kendall Jenner (50 756).
At the time of writing this article the Kylie app was siting at number 5 in the US according to the app analytics company, App Annie. To give you some perspective on just how big this family’s virtual presence is – By occupying the number 5 spot in the US for downloads, Kylie Jenner’s app beats out popular apps like YouTube, Apple Store and GoogleMaps, only with Facebook, SnapChat, Messenger and Instagram beating Kylie.
The Kylie app was occupying the number 10 spot according to App Annie in South Africa at the time of writing this, beating out other popular apps like YouTube, Twitter and GoogleMaps.
The Kim Kardashian West Official App is way down at number 60 according to App Annie, but this mega-celebrity has already enjoyed massive success with her own mobile game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Her mobile game scored about $1.5 million within its first 5 days of release and has since been downloaded 22.8 million times ranking in a total of $43 million since its June 2015 release.
