The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has received a few industry changing features, but overall its introduction of a 4K screen will steal the show. The Sony Xperia Z5 on the other hand features a 1080p full HD display. So the only difference between the Xperia Z5 Premium and Z5 is the 4K screen.
The brand new 1/2.3 Exmor RS for mobile 23MP sensor and F2.0 G Lens is the first re-imagined Xperia camera since the release of the Z1. It has been designed with Sony’s interchangeable lens camera “a” for clear, vivid shots. The camera is capable of the fastest autofocus on any phone to date.
The new Xperia Z5 range premium will also add a fingerprint sensor on the unlock button to up security. Its improved battery life offers up to two days of usage in Stamina Mode. It is also IP68 certified so it will be water and dust proof.
So to recap the Sony Xperia Z5 family will come in three models, the Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact. The Z5 Premium will house a 5.5-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) display. The Xperia Z5 will house a 5.2-inch 1080p display, and the Z5 Compact will come with a 4.6-inch 720p display. Other than the difference in the displays the phones are almost all identical, with minor differences in RAM and battery life.
The new range is said to be available worldwide come November, though no pricing has been revealed yet. We are looking forward to getting our hands on that Z5 Premium that is for sure!
