The man behind Pigspotter was revealed in court papers as part of a defamation case brought against Pinto by 21-year old Nape Phasha from the Vusu Rich Kids series. Phasha is suing Pinto for defamation after Pinto tweeted on 14 August 2014 that Phasha was involved in an accident where a black Mercedes had collided with a biker in Pretoria on the evening of 13 August 2015.

Phasha is suing Pinto for R500 000.00 for allegedly “making damaging, wrongful and defamatory statements against Phasha” according to Times LIVE.

Pigspotter has been tweeting about police roadblocks, traffic accidents and incidents, camera traps and more since July 2010 and has, before these court documents were filed, only been known as Cliff.

Phasha is a University of Pretoria graduate in political sciences and became well-known in South Africa after he appeared on the reality show, Vuzu Rich Kids, which chronicles the lives of rich, young South Africans.
