A Pepsi smartphone is happening. Well, kind of. PepsiCo Inc. confirmed to Reuters that it is licensing and marketing the Android smartphone and that another company will be manufacturing it. Pepsi, predominately a food and beverage company, went on to clarify that it has no intention to become a mobile phone manufacturer:

[T]his effort is similar to recent globally licensed Pepsi products which include apparel and accessories.
Unfortunately the Pepsi branded smartphone will only be available to purchase in China and the company didn’t go on to give any more details. Technology site, MobiPicker has reported some specs on the phone, which it claims will be dubbed the Pepsi P1 :
- 5.5-inch 1080p display;
- 2GB of RAM paired with 16GB internal storage;
- 13MP back – and 5MP front cameras;
- 3000 mAh battery;
- OS: Android 5.1.
