Disney will soon have its own way to stream any Disney related content, be it films, music, books, and television programs from the Disney Channel according to The Financial Times. This new service will be called DisneyLife and will be both a web-based service as well as an app download.
Although there will be no Star Wars or Marvel content at launch, it will have everything else you could ever dream of Disney related. The service will cost a monthly £9.99 and subscribers will have access to hundreds of films, songs, books, TV shows, games and apps.
Although the service will be more expensive than, say, Netflix, it will be cheaper than satellite television and also offer a wider variety of content, like books.
UK families embrace new technology, and demand more flexible entertainment, and this is supported by superfast broadband connectivity and the proliferation of digital devices in this market.
Although this service is rolling out in the UK at first, Disney have plans to spread it across the globe over time. If we will be getting it in South Africa, who knows, but there are alternate ways to stream international content in SA already, so get ready to give Disney money every month in the near future.
