The PS4 is still selling like hotcakes as Sony revealed that it has just hit over 29 million units sold. This news comes as Sony just wrapped up their second quarter of its 2015 financial year which ended on 30 September. They revealed that they sold yet another four million PS4s during the last 4 months, taking PS4 sales to over 29.3 million.

If we had to compare the PS4 to Sony’s closest hardware counterpart, the PS2, it sold 24.99 million units after the same amount of time on the market, and the PS3 had sold 16.6 million units in the same time frame. This makes the PS4 the best-selling PlayStation console in history.

Keep in mind that all these units were sold before the official price drop which came into effect last week, so Sony should expect this number to greatly increase over the festive season.
