Sure, going back in time is great and all, but sometimes we really do not want to relive a memory that Facebook reminds us of on certain days of the year. Luckily you can now filter these memories so that you are not reminded of drunk status updates, or that time you had a fight with your girlfriend, now ex girlfriend and decided to tell the world how terrible she was.

The filter allows you to now block out certain days, large periods of time, certain albums, and even some people from the On This Day feature.
Your memories are yours, so you should control which ones you see in On This Day. Memories include things such as your posts and other people’s posts that you’re tagged in, major life events and when you became friends with someone on Facebook. Use these filters to help make sure that we show you memories from On This Day in a way that’s meaningful for you
The service launched back in March and it often waits for you every morning at the top of your feed to publish. You can publish it or just leave it be, but the fact that it is still visible to you might be the issue here. To get to this menu, you can manually open On This Day by finding it on the left hand side of you screen when logged into Facebook on a web browser. You can then click on the Preferences tab, and head on into the filter options.
