While Fallout 4 has only been out for less that 48 hours, the game has reached some rather noteworthy milestones on Steam, the main distribution platform for PC.

According to Steamcharts.com, a site that makes use of Valve’s APIs for data collection, Fallout 4 hit 444,000 concurrent players at one moment in time, putting it right behind Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and Dota 2. Fallout 4 is averaging a total of 220,000 players playing at the same time too. According to the stats, over 9 million hours have been played collectively in Fallout 4 in the past 32 hours. Call of Duty: Black Ops III has been on the market since 6 November and it has only clocked in 3.9 million hours. This just goes to show how big Fallout really is.

In terms of concurrent players, the highest game, which is no surprise to us, is still Dota 2, which hit a peak of 1.2 million players back in February 2015. Coming in the closest to Fallout 4 is GTA V which holds the record at 360,761, just 50,000 behind Fallout 4.
