The whole world has gone mad with Star Wars fever. Google has released a site which lets you choose between the Light Side of the Force and the Dark Side of the Force, with your choice then affecting your Google experience.

New characters Rey (portrayed by Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (portrayed by Adam Driver) are used to represent each side of the Force. Your choice influences your experience using Google apps like Maps, Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Drive, Sheets, Docs, Weather, etc. For instance if you choose the Dark Side your whole experience becomes, well, darker and you will notice lots of fun themes from the movies (we don’t want to spoil it for you).

To enjoy this fun experience you will need a Gmail account and be signed into it, except for Google Search, Google Translate and Waze. The experience works across all devices you are signed into Gmail on and might take a few hours to kick in. You can switch sides at any time or you can drag your avatar to the middle of the Force line to go back to the boring old Google once all the Star Wars fever dies down in like 5 year’s time.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens was directed by J.J. Abrahams and is set to hit cinemas on 18 December 2015. The movie picks up 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi and sees original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil reunite to reprise their iconic roles.
