People started suspecting that something might be wrong when the YTS website stopped working about 2 weeks ago and the Internet soon swirled with rumours of a shut down. It can now be confirmed that the website and the torrent group have anchored their online piracy ships and have walked the plank one last time.

Online Piracy

YIFY started dominating the online piracy scene back in 2010 and soon became a household name on the Internet, with the site generating millions of page views a day. The group has shared over 6 000 movie releases to date and the shut down of the site marks a significant step in the fight against online piracy. It’s worthy to note that YTS was one of the main suppliers of movie content to Popcorn Time – a popular fork website that has been experiencing its own recent shut down.
