It’s the weekend which means it’s time to kick back, relax, and get some well-deserved game time in.

This week’s games to play this weekend, focuses on those games that we all love, racing games. We all love pretending we are in a fancy Lamborghini drifting our way around corners, and leaving the sound barrier behind us, but the truth is, we are not in a Lambo. At least with these games, you can pretend you are, and you can suit it up to the best of your digital wallet. Here are some racing games to spend your time on this weekend.

Forza Horizon 2 – Xbox One

When it comes to the Forza series, I definitely prefer Horizon, although I played and reviewed Forza 6.

Horizon’s breath-taking open world, combined with the beauty of the European coastline, and an up-beat soundtrack, makes for a more arcade like game. You are a newbie racer in the Horizon Festival, you now need to make a name for yourself by racing up the ranks and knocking out your competition.

Need For Speed – PS4, Xbox One, PC

We reviewed Need for Speed a while back. I can say that it is a pretty close matched to the classic Need for Speed titles that we loved from back in the day like Need for Speed: Underground and Most Wanted. Sure the acting is a bit cheesy, but you can skip it.

Mario Kart 8 – Wii U

Mario and his gang have been pros at kart racing for years now and Mario Kart 8 is the best in the series. The game looks great on the Wii U and supports up to 4 player couch racing. There is also two DLC packs out for the game right now wich add new racers and tracks to the roster, so it’s a win-win.

Asphalt Airborne 8 – Android, iOS, Windows 10

If you are on the cheap end of the stick this weekend, then you can download Asphalt Airborne 8, which is a free-to-play game on mobile devices. It is a rather intense racing game that is flashy and full of thrills. It also looks fantastic on iOS and Android, did I mention it was free?

DriveClub – PS4

I really love DriveClub, it’s a pretty good game that is full of content whether you bought it or downloaded the PlayStation Plus Edition. Right now there is some pretty great DLC out for it that adds bikes to the game. Cars and bikes with the ability to form and join a club to take on the world of racing. What more could you possibly want?
