The TAG Heuer smartwatch is here.

Dubbed TAG Heuer Connected, this smartwatch from the Swiss luxury watchmaker runs Android Wear and is currently only available in the US. If you want one you’ll have to delve deep into your couch pillows to come up with the $1 500.00 (about R21,500.00) price tag.
No news as to when the TAG Heuer smartwatch will be available in South Africa, but this is what we know so far.
The new watch will ship with:
- Android Wear operating system but is iOS compatible;
- Directional wind and weather monitoring;
- RaceChrono Pro capability;
- Google Fit;
- Custom themes for numerous display options
Although it runs on Android Wear it is also iOS compatible
The TAG Heuer Connected is obviously also a watch, so despite being able to tell the time it will also come with alarm features and a stopwatch.
It is encased in Titanium Grade 2 with fine-brushed titanium lugs and other beautifully elegant detailing.
The Screen is 46mm in diameter an dis covered in scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The LTPS LCD display has a screen resolution of 360×360, 24ppi.
There are 7 strap colour for the vulcanised rubber strap with titanium folding clasp:
- Black, and
It has about 25 hours “typical usage” battery life.
It has a 1.6GHz duel core processor and 1GB main memory, and 4GB storage memory.
The TAG Hueur smartwatch is IP67 water resistant and comes with:
- Tilt detection sensor,
- Microphone, and
- Haptic engine
