With 2015 in the past, we can’t help but look back and wonder where a few missing games were in the past 12 months.

We know these games are in development, some for longer than others, but we still have no sign of a release, or any sort of gameplay footage. Some of these games we know look great, and we can’t wait to play them, but where are they?

Rime -PS4

Rime was originally announced back in August 2013 during Sony’s Gamescom conference. The game is a third person adventure game with cel-shaded art style.  The game merges gameplay from the Zelda franchise, as well as Journey from ThatGameCompany.

It follows a bot who needs to escape an island and a curse by solving puzzles in an open world setting. There is no spoken audio in the game, and every feeling is portrayed from a musical standpoint.

One thing is for sure, Rime looks fantastic, and we all are (im)patiently waiting for some sort of sign that the game is still going strong. It has been 2 years now and we have not even seen any sort of gameplay since the initial reveal of the game.

Deep Down – PS4

Where in the world is Deep Down? The game that merges combat from Dark Souls in a gorgeous and ruthless dungeon crawler. Deep Down was also revealed back in 2013 at the PS4 reveal in February of that year.

You begin in New York City in the year 2094, and by touching magical artefacts you are transported to a distant past to explore dungeons and avoid or battle monsters while looting treasure. Each dungeon is randomly generated for each player, and each artefact will determine the dungeon that you explore.

Deep Down is a free to play game that we just cannot wait to play. But when? Who knows?

The Last Guardian

To think that the Last Guardian has been in development since 2007 and has missed a console cycle completely, makes us lose hope that game will ever see the light of day. The game was initially revealed during the 2009 E3 conference  as a PS3 exclusive, and it instantly stole our hearts. However the game went into “development hell” for a couple of years as we all wondered where it had got to.

It was not until E3 of 2015 that Sony re-introduced the game as a PS4 exclusive, with no release date or release window in sight.

Fable Legends – Xbox One, Windows 10

Fable Legends is an upcoming Windows 10 and Xbox One title, one of the first games to utilise the platform’s cross-play feature.

The game is set in the Fable universe and is a free-to-play title, with in-game purchases. The game was initially revealed in August 2013, but since then have not heard much. The game went from being a paid for title, to being a free-to-play game. It’s currently in closed beta, and the beta was meant to end in December of 2015, but it is clear that the game needs more work.
