MIA South Africa announced that the Redmi Note 2 will be available at online retailers in South Africa from R2 999.
At R2 999 the Redmi Note 2 is about half the price of similar larger smartphones currently available in the South African market, with MIA’s President RJ van Spaandon noting that:
Many comparable smartphones sell at double the price, and none of them retail below R4,000.
The Redmi Note 2 runs on a 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core chipset, which was originally designed to power high-end flagship phones because of its powerful performance. It has a stunning 5.5″ Full HD display, which has Sunlight Display technology that automatically adjusts the screen’s lighting in different environments.
Van Spaandon reckons South Africans will dig the new device:
South Africans will love Redmi Note 2, which is packed with top-end specs that outperform all devices in this price segment, as well as a high-quality camera that captures amazing pictures.
If all of this sound cool to you you can order yours from Takealot, MIA Africa, Dion Wired, Game, Incredible Connection and Makro.
The phablet ships with a 64-bit Helio X10 processor which has eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores making intensive multitasking possible and seamless. It has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, making it pretty cool for gaming.
