The newspaper reports that the company has already stopped production of most of the Wii U console accessories and that, later this year, the console itself will stop being produced and manufactured. This news follows the rumours that Nintendo will be replacing the console with a new console with the codename Nintendo NX. Nintendo has also stated its intentions to enter into the mobile market and has announced its first app called Miitomo, which launched in Japan last week.
The report goes on to say that 12.6 million Will U consoles have been sold since it launched back in 2012.
There are still a few titles for the Nintendo Will U to be released this year including Star Fox Zero, Paper Mario Color Splash, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, and the upcoming Legend of Zelda game.
