Although the iPhone of 2016 is said to be aluminum, rumours have arisen which point to an all-glass design for the 2017 iPhone model, with an AMOLED display. We know about the AMOLED display which we reported on a while back, but the glass encasing, well that is new.
KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple will return to its iPhone 4 design for the 2017 iPhone. We know that Apple release a re-designed iPhone every second year, but it seems that this year that will not be happening.
How Apple will go about this design is still unknown, but if it is anything like the iPhone 4, it will have a glass front and back, with an aluminum slate in the middle. With every second phone maker releasing aluminum phones nowadays, it would not be surprising if Apple does move away from it and adopt a new design.
This means that 2017 might see a brand new glass iPhone with an AMOLED display. This could mean that Apple is switching up its release patterns quite drastically. We are still pretty early into 2016, and the new iPhone will not be unveiled until September/October, so we will just wait to wait to see what Apple has up its sleeve.
