GraphersRock is headed by graphic designer Tamino Iwaya who is famous for marvellously  merging cyber punk and techno culture into designs that ooze coolness. This new collaboration with PUMA saw GraphersRock select the following words for inspiration when it designed the new sneakers:

  • Techno;
  • Cyber punk;
  • Experimental laboratory; and
  • High tech.

Then the Japanese design house chose two of PUMA’s most iconic 90’s runner shoes, the Disc Blaze and the R698 to create a geeky and funky visual story. There is a play on the material using pictures and typography to represent this cool visual story. This gadget geeks visual story, or “otakus” as it’s known in Japan, is told throughout the two colourways of the PUMA Disc by GraphersRock, black and white.

These geeky shoes are decked in shiny leather with an engraved forefoot with Tokyo, Japan and GraphersRock featuring as strong themes throughout the design of the sneaker collaboration with PUMA. Even the TRINOMIC sole features fantastic graphics carrying over the gadget geeks design ethos.
