Seeing as Jon Favreau is a massive Disney fan, it comes as no surprise that his live-action The Jungle Book would have some references to the original 1967 Disney animation movie. Favreau couldn’t resist to place some Disney easter eggs throughout The Jungle Book movie. Favreau explained recently that directors have to play games to keep themselves occupied. He goes on to say that he wanted to stay true to the original Disney movie, explaining that:

I wanted to make sure the core group of fans of the underlying material were respected and rewarded. You want to make it fun for someone who has never seen the original film but for someone who loves the original film, we want them to understand that we love it, too.

Mowgli (portrayed by Neel Sethi) howls with the wolf pack in both The Jungle Book movies:

Baloo (voiced by Bull Murray) and Mowgli float down the river while singing Bare Necessities:

Kaa, who is seductively voiced by Scarlett Johansson, again manages to almost munch Mowgli by hypnotizing him:

King Louis (voiced by Christopher Walken) still wants to control man’s Red Flower and sings I Wanna Be Like you which is another song that is featured in both of The Jungle Book movies:
