What’s In the Box?
In the box you will find:
- G900 Chaos Spectrum Mouse
- 1.8m charging cable
- USB dongle
- Box with left/right thumb buttons
The mouse is small and light and fits easily into any hands. Normally it would be a hassle with large hands to grip the mouse, but it seems that Logitech has managed to create the perfect in-between size for all hands. As it is an ambidextrous mouse, you can have anywhere between 5 and 9 buttons installed on it at any time. The nice thing about the design, is that most ambidextrous gaming mice are stuck with the buttons on the mouse whether or not you want to use them. This normally results in you clicking the buttons even if they are disabled. But with the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum you’re able to luckily swap out the buttons.
Other than the ambidextrous design, the mouse is like any other gaming mouse on the market. It has a built-in DPI toggle which varies in three speeds, an extremely smooth mouse wheel and a fluid left and right-click. You can change the resistance of the mouse wheel by pressing in a square button just below it. This made every day out-of-game use much easier by leaving it on a smoother and faster scroll. Under the mouse you will find an on/off button and a button to change profiles which you will set up using the software.
The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum promises to have uninterrupted wireless capabilities. You can also make use of the wireless mode if you wanted to, as the device has many ways to connect to your PC.
The mouse has great battery life, which is a given seeing as the LED light is not as big and flashy as those you find on other gaming mice, but we are not complaining at all. With a charge time of just over 2 hours, it provided a solid 20 hours of use with all the bells and whistles on like the LED and the highest DPI.
When making use of the Logitech Gaming Software, it also shows you how long you have left until the device is flat. The software does much more than that as it is the hub for all your customizable settings like LED colour, profiles and DPI settings. At first we were a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of options available, but as we went through them all we slowly crafted the best gaming setup possible on a mouse.
The Logitech Gaming Software scans your PC and finds all the games you have installed. It then sets up profiles for each game you have, so chances are when choosing this profile, the DPI and all the G keys will be tailor-made to suit the game. You can also change the surface in which the mouse uses to read the DPI.
We have never used a gaming mouse as perfectly designed as the G900 Chaos Spectrum. It is truly the most well-rounded, user-friendly mouse out there. Logitech has crafted the perfect gaming mouse.
