News on the latest Witcher 3 expansion pack has been pretty quiet for some time now. We know that it is due out before the end of May, but we have not seen or heard anything about the expansion. Now, details are finally starting to trickle in about the expansion pack and so far we have received some screenshots which look absolutely stunning.
The latest expansion pack called Blood and Wine is said to be more refined than the main game, with a brand new world, weapons, enemies, and story to explore. The expansion will see Geralt head off into a new region called Toussaint as he attends high-end dinners, explores the landscapes and takes on scary new millipede looking monsters. We also know that the expansion will have new Gwent cards, and new Witcher gear to search for while you are exploring the new land.
Some of the locations on the new expansion take Geralt into a fairytale world, as well as a gigantic new kingdom. As for the story of the expansion, all we know is that Toussaint is a land on the brink of war between magic and the dark forces. Senior Social Media and Community Coordinator at CD PROJEKT RED, Marcin Momot explains:
Toussaint, the new realm we’re creating for the expansion, is unlike anything you’ve seen in Wild Hunt – carefree and colorful, but your gut never stops telling you that there’s some real dark stuff happening underneath all that. We’ll be revealing more information in May however, to sweeten the wait, here are some fresh screenshots from the expansion!
