Disney bought the Star Wars franchise from Lucasfilm a while back. Some were not so happy with the idea of a “children’s movie studio” buy a beloved and “adult” franchise. Others saw the awesome new possibilities that this major studio could offer to the franchise, one being a massive expansion of the Star Wars galaxy across various forms of entertainment and merchandising.
There are movies, books, TV shows, animations, spinoff stories, toys, collectables, LEGO and more. But now you will be able to enjoy Star Wars in a completely unique way; through comic books.
The Marvel Star Wars: The Force Awakens comic book adaptation will come in a six-part series on 22 June 2016. The series was written by Chuck Wendig and was illustrated by Luke Ross. Here is a first look of what to expect from this exciting new medium to enjoy one of the most popular franchises in history. Below is the cover for issues #1 of the Marvel Star Wars comic book series which was created by Esad Ribic and there are also some pages from the first issue. You might recognise some of the scenes from The Force Awakens movie like the capturing of pilot, Poe Dameron as well as a look at Rey enjoying her food portions. We also see new villain Kylo Ren and rough Stormtrooper, Finn. The new adorable droid, BB-8 also makes an appearance on this first look.
