On Monday, Radiohead seemingly vanished into “dead air space“.
There were no traces of the five-piece British rock band to be found on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, with the band’s accounts being wiped clean. Even the band’s website brought up a blank white page when you visited it yesterday (03 May 2016). Only the videos on YouTube were spared from deletion with The Daily Mail sound recording being the last thing posted on 19 December 2011. Everyone was rather confused and speculations started to surface about either the possibility of a breakup or some new music.
To fans’ delight it would appear that this disappearing act was all part of the release of some new music. The band debuted a brand new song entitled Burn the Witch along with a wonderfully weird music video on its official website and on the band’s YouTube page. At the time of writing this, the video for Burn the Witch had already forked up more than three million views on YouTube, which shows that the hype paid off.
Radiohead started commercially releasing music in 1993, but has not released an album since the 2011 album, The King of Limbs. Fans are eagerly awaiting further news and music drops as a new albums is expected to be released very soon.
