For the 5th year running, the A MAZE festival will be returning to Johannesburg to celebrate digital experiences as a cultural phenomenon. The International Game and Playful Media Festival brings together independent game developers, digital creatives and game enthusiasts, all under one roof for one weekend.

What Is A MAZE?
In short A MAZE is an interactive public festival that investigates the more artistic and cultural significance of gaming and digital media. The festival houses some of the most innovative creations created by indie developers around the world. Everything on display is carefully picked to show off how far you can go to create a unique gaming experience without the usual controller and couch scenario.
Expect VR, hands-on gaming experiences, interactive installations, and more “out of this world” ways to play games. As this is the 5th anniversary of the festival, A MAZE is doing a great job in attracting both local and international press and visitors to the show. Not only can you visit the show when it takes place to really see what it is all about, you can also sign up to be part of it if you are an independent game developer or some sort of artist.
As the festive is funded by the City of Johannesburg, and is part of the Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival, the event needs to find a fitting location. The event will take place in Braamfontein, at the Founder Square in the Tshimologong Precinct. The event starts on 31 August, and carries though to 3 September 2016.
What To Expect
