Last year, sneaker maker Converse released the Chuck Taylor II sneakers as a sequel to the iconic sneakers. The update was needed because of the lack of proper footwear technology making the shoes sometimes uncomfortable when you wore them for a long time. Now the All Star sneakers are get the same make-over treatment.
The new style is dubbed Converse All Star Modern. The updated look is nostalgic to the 1920 All Star sneakers, but the new design is still strikingly different to its predecessor. The new sneakers come in two styles: the Hi and Ox. The Converse All Star Modern sneakers sport circular knit uppers, Phylon outsole, TPU-fused overlaid toecap, neoprene tongue and high-tech lining engineered for comfort paired with a stylish look.
Creative Director and Vice President of Converse Global, Bryan Cioffi explains:
The Converse All Star Modern is a perfect fusion of our sport heritage with modern design. With this collection, Converse is delivering a comfortable, lightweight product that’s new, exciting and modern, but still feels very Converse.
The new Converse All Star Modern sneakers are releasing in these 5 colourways:
- Soar Blue;
- Lucid Green; and
- Action Red.
New colourways and material options are sure to follow suit with the company claiming that additional sneaker drops will happen throughout 2016. Check out the different options below that are available during this initial drop:
