The road has been bumpy for popular rock band, Blink-182, with tension leading to a band break(up). The band’s frontman, Tom DeLonge, took to his Facebook last year to announce that he never intended to quit Blink-182, but that he finds it “hard as hell to commit“. The trio have apparently been having some issues amongst themselves as well as in terms of contracts, other commitments and deadlines. Last year, in an open letter on Facebook, DeLonge explains that for various reasons that he would be taking a break from the band.  Now, DeLonge opens up further to reveal that his decision to quit involves extraterrestrial life.

DeLonge explained that he has launched a multimedia company called Sekret Machines which aims to enlighten people about the danger that extraterrestrials could pose to the human race. The company produces and releases books, documentaries and music from DeLonge’s other band Angels & Airwaves to attempt to educate people on extraterrestrial life. The series launches with a book called Sekret Machines Book 1: Chasing Shadow which is a fictional book setting out stories about extraterrestrial sightings, crashes and explores other theories about extraterrestrial life. DeLonge goes on to explain his decision not to go on tour with Blink-182 in favour of focussing on extraterrestrial life:

Well it’s not so much about Blink. It’s about what I’m doing with my life now. When you’re an individual like me, dealing with something that’s a national security issue, and you’re being gifted with the opportunity to communicate something you’ve been passionate about your whole life — something that has the opportunity to change the world over time — being a small part of that is enormously important for my life path.

But I can’t do everything. I can’t tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I’m setting out to do.

DeLonge hopes that Sekret Machine can be used to start a conversation with people on a level that they can understand and relate to. DeLonge feels that the best mediums to convey his message include “novels and films and documentaries”.

The whole UFO phenomenon is different from what people think it is.
