This year the game will be moving away from the Ignite Engine, which powered the game for the past 3 years. Instead, EA has built the game from the ground up using the DICE’s Frostbite Engine. This is the same engine which powers Battlefield 1, Star Wars: Battlefront and Mass Effect.

The new engine will allow for better motion capture, crowd visuals and overall enhancements to the game. Saying that, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game have not been created using the Frostbite Engine, rather they will still make use of the Ignite Engine.

EA also revealed that the game will be releasing worldwide on 29 September 2016. Along with this news, a teaser trailer was also released to give us a little sneak peek at the game and the new engine. Expect a full reveal on 12 June 2016 during EA’s E3 media briefing.
