We’re feeling a bit nostalgic and have decided to play these old school video games all weekend long:

Dead Island + Dead Island Riptide – PS4, Xbox One, PC

In 2011 a zombie game came along which changed the zombie genre forever. Dead Island merged classic RPG with a massive open world, and survival horror, all into one to create the ultimate zombie bashing experience. Set on the island of Banoi, Dead Island follows the story of a handful of people as they wake up one day to find that the tropical island resort which they were staying in, has a zombie outbreak.

Mafia II – PC, PS3, Xbox 360

With Mafia III on the horizon, we cannot help but want to catch up on things. It just so happens that Mafia II has just been re-listed on Steam and is also on sale. Mafia has always been able to stay away from the generalisation of GTA and Saints Row and has managed to create a more serious open world game, rather than a comical one.

Mafia II follows the story of Vito Scaletta as he tried to make a name for himself in the streets of Empire Bay. He has come into contact with the Mafia which run the city, and now needs to prove himself to them by performing tasks given to him. As he commits crimes and moves up the family ladder, he realises that things are not as easy as they seem.

Day of the Tentacle – PS4, Xbox One, PC

If you loved anything on the lines of Secret of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, or are keen on Robot Wizard’s Jengo, then Day of the Tentacle is right up your alley.

Dr. Fred’s mutated purple tentacle has been unleashed and you are the only one who can stop him. Switching between the classic and remastered modes and changing up the audio from old school to new school, this is one of those awesome old school video games that needs to be enjoyed again and again.
