News comes ahead of SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary event which is taking place in San Diego on 22 July 2016. According to the head of Sonic Team, Takashi Lizuka, the team will be unveiling the latest Sonic the Hedgehog title at the event. The video which you can see below, is an hour of the Sonic Team chatting about the origins of the series and how the team created the original Sonic characters like Knuckles and Tails.

Although the video is in Japanese, it is interesting to see just how Sonic became the Sonic we all know today. We do not know much about the latest title in development, and if it will be a sequel to the Boom series, or a complete reboot. All we know is that next year we will be playing a new Sonic game, and we are pretty excited.
