PUMA has launched BMW shoes that draws inspiration from the BMW GINA Light Visionary concept car. The PUMA BMW X-CAT DISC shoes are part of PUMA’s DISC franchise and these look ultra modern, high tech and futuristically cool.
Designworks, which is a subsidiary of the BMW group teamed up with PUMA to develop a unique, high tech fabric which is applied expertly over the metal chassis. Drawing inspiration from the BMW GINA Light Visionary concept car, the new PUMA by BMW shoes feature a modern and seamless outer shell. The shoe’s outer shows silver stretch fabric which is reminiscent of the BMW concept car’s material. This material causes the form of the shoe to transform as it opens and closes, something which happens with the car as well. The PUMA by BMW shoes include a laser cut upper which is inspired by the texture that appears when the concept car’s doors open. The DISC system is covered by the silver material and sports the BMW logo.
The new PUMA by BMW shoes boast PUMA’s improved and reinvented DISC shoe tech, which gives wearers the comfortable and snug fit associated with PUMA’s DISC franchise. The PUMA DISC technology was originally launched back in 1991. Initially the system was activated by the rotating disc, which caused internal wires to tighten the upper to enhance comfort and provide the snuggest fit. The DISC system has been made lighter and smaller by consisting of only five parts. The improved DISC system is quicker to turn and the internal wire system provides a faster and smoother wrap which ensures that the upper is secured faster and with more precision.
The BMW X-CAT DISC will be available from today (01 July 2016) at The Cross Trainer stores and selected retailers for R2 699.
