It was revealed that the owner of KickassTorrents, Artem Vaulin, was recently arrested and seven domains were seized by the U.S government. This could mean that the site could have gone offline for good this week. These domains include:
The owner of KickassTorrents could face up to 20 years in prison for running the site and distributing over $1 billion of copyrighted materials unlawfully. Vaulin was reportedly caught after federal investigators purchased ad space on various sites, posing as an advertiser. He then gave them his details to make payment, which led to his banking details being shared. Apple was also reported to be part of the capture of Vaulin, as it allegedly shared his details with the FBI when it was discovered that his email account was email@example.com. With the seven registered domains being pulled down, this could mean the end of Kickass.to once and for all.
