2016 is set to become the year of the Pokémon thanks to the massive success of Nintendo’s latest mobile game, Pokémon Go. But Pokémon are hardly the new kids on the block, as us millennials have been collecting original Pokémon cards since the 90s.

If you’re a dedicated fan of the franchise or maybe your mom still has a box of your old stuff lying around, then you may still have some of your original Pokémon cards. As these cool creatures are making a global comeback, people are going nuts for anything related to the popular Pokémon franchise. If you aren’t too attached to your collection of original Pokémon cards, then you can make some money by selling them. Not all of the original Pokémon cards could sell for lots of money, but some of the rarer ones might sell for more than you’ll think. First edition original Pokémon cards, which were released between 1999 and 2000, are worth the most as well as level nine or higher Pokémon.
