When Disney acquired the rights to the Star Wars franchise from Lucasfilm, we expected many franchising possibilities. Now Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed concept art for Star Wars Land and it looks as out-of-this-world as it sounds.
Star Wars Land is set to be a 14-acres attraction located at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort. It will be the largest single-themed land expansion at Disneyland, ever. Star Wars Land is currently under construction after it was revealed to be in the works in February of this year. The official groundbreaking took place in April of this year.
Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
Disney hasn’t revealed much details about Star Wars Land. We don’t know whether the attraction will be focusing on the franchise in general or whether it will be focusing predominately on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Force Awakens was the first Star Wars movie that was released under the Disney name and was a huge success amongst critics, fans and Star Wars newbies.
Nestled between towering spires of rock, this thriving port contains a seemingly familiar architecture of markets, landing zones and buildings.
There is no official opening date to the public yet. Until then, easily catch up on the Star Wars story with emoji Star Wars.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first movie film to break away from the main story and is set for release later this year. With Disney owning the rights to the franchise, we’re sure to get plenty of Star Wars related movies, theme-parks, attractions, merchandise, accessories and more for a long, long time.
