Today Microsoft revealed the official release date of the console. Major Nelson announced on his blog, that the Xbox One S will be hitting store on 2 August 2016. The Xbox One S will start to rollout in its 2TB model first, with more models following later this year. Major Nelson did mention that the 2TB Xbox One S white model will be limited, so you should check your local retailer for stock and pre-order as soon as it is live.

Although we do not have a South African release date as of yet, we should expect the Xbox One S to release sometime in September. The Xbox One S has one major feature above the current model, in that it can play 4K Ultra HD video with HDR gaming too.

The new Xbox One model will come bundled with the new Xbox One Wireless Controller featuring a textured grip, improved wireless signal, and Bluetooth support for Windows 10. The biggest new feature is the ability to custom design your own Xbox One controller to your liking with your own colour scheme, engraving, and more.

The Xbox One S will also release in a 1TB and 500GB model, but these models have not received an official release date.

No official release date for Project Scorpion yet.
