Eevee is one of the most diverse Pokémon you can find. The Eevee evolution can take various forms, depending on the stone or relationship you have with it in the game series. However, this being Pokémon GO, there are no stones or relationship levels to measure your Eevee evolution. To make it easy to understand we need to understand the origin of the Eevee evolution method.
In the Pokémon TV show episode called “The Battling Eevee Brothers”, we’re introduced to three brothers, who each have their own Eevee evolution. Sparky, Rainer, and Pyro were three brothers who challenged Ash using one of their Eevee evolutions. Sparky had Jolteon, Rainer had Vaporeon, and Pyro had Flareon. The episode was the first time we ever saw Eevee and its diverse evolutions, and it become a fan-favourite.
In Pokémon GO, there is an Easter Egg behind the Eevee evolution which relate to the iconic episode. By naming your Eevee to correspond with the three evolutions in the episode, you will get the Eevee evolution you want:
- Sparky – Jolteon;
- Pyro – Flareon; or
- Rainer – Vaporeon.
All you have to do is rename your Eevee by tapping on its name, and typing in the nickname from The Battling Eevee Brothers episode. Keep in mind that this can only be done once per Eevee evolution. This means that once you have used each Eevee evolution, naming it will not guarantee a set evolution result again. So then you will have to just evolve it in hopes of getting the Eevee evolution you wanted.
