After VRCade’s success and popularity at this year’s Gaming and Electronics Expo, it decided to set up a permanent VR arcade in Cape Town. This means that people can go to this VR arcade, which will be opening its doors in Cape Town soon and use virtual reality devices like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive to emerge into a virtual world. Opening its doors to the public means that many more people would be able to experience virtual reality for the first time, as the technology behind VR can be too expensive for the average consumer.

The VR arcade has a pop-up shop while its busy setting up its permanent spot. The official launch of the VR arcade is set to take place on 25 August 2016, with a special showcase at the Creative Exchange at the Watershed from 18:00 – 21:00.
